We are a AAA charter service that specializes in drift fishing, but we will blade, jig, drift or troll, whatever the lake conditions dictate. Our trips are 8 hours dock to dock and we don't quit early unless our fishemen tell us they want to head in. If we limit early we can fish for other species or catch and release walleye. Your choice! We will always do our best to catch the most fish possible but we cannot guarantee the bite. Our Boat Rod Bender is a late model 30-foot SportCraft fishing boat which is fully rigged for both walleye and smallmouth bass drift fishing and trolling. This wide-beam boat is perfect for walleye, perch and smallmouth bass fishing charters on Lake Erie. Rod Bender has modern fishing and safety equipment and toilet facilities. This charter fishing boat is equipped with a state-of-the-art Furuno color fish finder, Garmin mapping GPS and sonar, ship-to-shore radios and cell phones. Captain Bob Hesse has been fishing Lake Erie since the sixties and is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and an Ohio licensed guide. Charter Groups Rod Bender Charters provides charters for groups of up to 6 per boat for walleye fishing and smallmouth bass and perch outings. Special executive and custom trips are available. Mooring Walleye fishing trips begin dockside at Wild Wings marina, located north of Oak Harbor, and run eight hours or until limited out, dock-to-dock - 6 am to 2 pm., but special times are available. Smallmouth trips are the same as walleye, but perch trips normally begin at 7 am.
